is your best assurance that no illegal and exploited child labour was employed
in making our rugs. To be certified by RUGMARK UK, carpet makers sign a legally
binding contract to:
produce carpets and rugs
without illegal child labour
allow unannounced
inspections
pay fair wages to adult
weavers
A percentage of the
cost of all rugs and carpets bearing the RUGMARK label is used to provide
schooling and other welfare support to former child workers, their families and
communities.
The Rug Merchant deals only with those companies who are registered
with RUGMARK UK.
